H/D Big Bang is a thing!

harrydracobang was announced today and I'm so friggin' excited to finally be able to talk about it! :D

YAS! Harry/Draco 2018 is a thing! :D

But I guess I should actually talk a bit about instead of going into 100% flail mod before? :D

Harry/Draco Big Bang is a community encouraging the creation of fanfics 50K+ and fabulous art. You write your story and collab with an artist that will create art for your fic and together you'll make a gorgeous final piece of fic and art. :D

You can learn more about the process here.

It's very, very early yet, because sign ups open Jan 1st. BUT! It's never too early to think about it! I bet many of you amazing writers have that one story you've been meaning to write for a long while. This is the perfect chance! Not only you'll have the opportunity to have an artist illustrating your but being part of Harry/Draco fun will be so much fun. We'll have activities (seriously, watch the community for future announcements!), chat sessions, sprints and so much more.

There will be lots of things to do for watchers, too. You can be a cheerleader, an alpha reader and help an author or an artist through the creation of their pieces, beta read and generally offer support and be part of Harry/Draco Bang 2018. :)

harrydracobang at DW is going to be a mirror of the Lj community, but if you don't want to follow the comm via Lj you can always follow

harrydracobang At tumblr. Every entry will be cross posted there, too. :)

Thank you! <3 Mirror means entries will be posted there, too? But only later? Sorry, I'm not entirely sure what these terms mean. :) Maybe I will have to log into my LJ just for this. :)

Well! Maybe mirror is not the right word? What I meant is that the DW community is going to be a back up - entries might get posted only for backing up purposes, but the sign ups and official announcements, et veteran will be on Lj and tumblr. :)

Okay, thank you for explaining. But, uh, I was thinking: would it be too much of a hassle to crosspost entries here to the comm on DW when they are posted at LJ and tumblr? Because I know there are a lot of refugees from tumblr and LJ here who will miss out on all the fun because they don't go on these sites anymore. Thank you!

Hi reijamira! Sorry, I'm hijacking capitu's post, but I did want you to know that as of right now, we've made the decision not to cross-post the entries live to DW. We're already offering a non-livejournal (tumblr) option for those who aren't using livejournal, and given the way that DW is set up, it's a lot of extra work for us to cross-post everything, especially as there are only a very small handful of people that aren't on LJ or Tumblr and who would be interested in participating. We understand there are a couple of people who do fall in this category, but if you'd like to play along and you don't feel comfortable using LJ, we do offer a tumblr option that would allow you to avoid LJ entirely. Unfortunately, the mods don't have unlimited time, and we had to think of the best platforms to reach the most people with a reasonable amount of work from the mods, and that ended up being LJ & tumblr.

gracerene! Thank you for your reply and explaining! I had no idea it was so much effort to crosspost everything to DW. I know a few other comms that are crossposting everything and thought it wasn't that big of a deal. Sorry, if my question was a bit out of place. I really appreciate everything you guys are doing! Thanks for being so thoughtful, too! I guess I will follow the comm on LJ then because compared with tumblr it's the better platform. Thanks again!
